The Africa Project hosts a variety of activities and events throughout the year. We hope you will join us!

  • The Week of the African Child (December 1 to 8) features an annual Youth Conference on AIDS and a Holiday Brunch.
  • The Hunger Banquet is a simulation of the unequal distribution of the world's resources. This event, hosted by The Africa Project Youth Board and the City of Irvine High School Youth Action Team (HSYAT), is both thought provoking and inspiring.
  • Monthly "Date Nights" are hosted by The Africa Project Young Professionals Board as a fun way to get together with loved ones and friends for a social event that also supports The Africa Project.
  • Car Washes, Bake Sales, Lemonade Stands, Pledge Drives and more are hosted by our volunteers and others who just care and want to make a difference. If your organization is interested in hosting a fundraiser in order to support children and families in Africa, we'd love to work with you.

If your school or community group is hosting a fundraiser, please consider donating the proceeds to The Africa Project! Email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Youth Conference on AIDS

The annual Youth Conference on AIDS (YCOA) provides an opportunity for young people to learn about the nature of HIV/AIDS, how it started, how to prevent its spread, and the impact both locally and globally. The YCOA is held each year in December during the Week of the African Child as part of our observation of World AIDS Day, December 1st. The conference is hosted by The Africa Project Youth Board, the City of Irvine High School Youth Action Team (HSYAT), and UCI AIDS Fundamentalists.  Read more...
