The Africa Project is an all volunteer non profit agency with many amazing partners. We invite you to join The Africa Project and host activities or events that raise awareness regarding The Africa Project's Mission, provide opportunities for others to get involved in The Africa Project, and raise funds to support the programs and services that The Africa Project sponsors in Nkandla, South Africa.
Awareness Raising Activities - Increase awareness regarding the issues of poverty and AIDS in Africa, The Africa Project, and the work we do.
- Host a Coffee, Tea or Lunch Party and share readings from "Africa Unfinished" - the poetry of Peggy Goetz, with your guests.
- Invite a representative from The Africa Project Board, Youth Board, Young Professional Board or Ambassadors, to share our presentation to your professional organization (Kiwanis, Rotary,Exchange, etc.)
- Host a Hunger Banquet at your school or in the community (contact us for details.)
- Coordinate a Poster Campaign at your school.
- Promote The Africa Project's annual Youth Conference on AIDS. Inform the young people you know about this important conference.
- Collaborate with The Africa Project to host an inspiRED Event (a mini version of our Youth Conference on AIDS) at your school or in the community.
Friend Raising Activities - Provide opportunities for community members to get involved in The Africa Project.
- Join The Africa Project's FACEBOOK Group and invite your friends, family and colleagues to do the same.
- Volunteer by joining The Africa Project Youth Board, Young Professionals Board or Ambassadors. Invite your friends, family members, and colleagues to get involved with you.
- Form a team, made up of a friends, family, or colleaues to coordinate and host programs, activities and events that support The Africa Project. That is how we started. It is a lot easier than it seems.
Fund Raising Activities - Raise funds needed to support the programs and services in Nkandla, South Africa supported by The Africa Project.
- Organize and host a Bake or Craft Sale.
- On your birthday, ask friends to make a donation to The Africa Project in your name.
- Host a Themed Party for friends and family, charge a cover or accept donations.
- Coordinate a Pledge Drive for The Africa Project. Ask friends and family to pledge $5, $10, $20 or more per month for the year.
- Organize and host a Benefit Concert or Talent Show at your school or in the community, charge admission.
- Organize and host a Tournament (ping pong, dodge ball, scrabble, basketball, etc.) and charge an entry fee.
- Place a Week of the African Child collection box at your place of business or in your classroom during the week.
- Recycle mobile phones and toner cartridges and donate the proceeds to The Africa Project.
- Coordinate and host a rummage sale with friends. Donate the proceeds to The Africa Project.
- Promote The Africa Project Holiday Brunch. Help us sell tickets. Proceeds support the Lunch Program at Velangaye High School!
